New managing director for phs Wastekit

Baler specialist phs Wastekit has appointed a new managing director as it looks to offer ‘end-to-end’ services for clients.

Jason Smith will become managing director of phs Wastekit

Jason Smith joins the company with 16 years of experience in the plant and tool industry, as well as in retail management. He plans to lead business growth and meet the waste management needs of clients effectively by offering a more comprehensive service.

Mr Smith explains: “Traditionally, Wastekit may have rented or sold a machine to a company and that would be the end of the journey for us. However, we are looking to partner with local recyclers to offer a complete service to customers so they’re not only baling or compacting their waste, it’s collected as well.

“This potentially becomes a revenue generator for customers as recyclers will often pay to collect the waste, making it an attractive financial proposition as well ensuring waste is recycled which is the right thing to do from an environmental perspective; it makes sense for us as a business and our customers.”

In addition to its core industrial, manufacturing and retail customer base, phs Wastekit has plans for cross-sector expansion within the HORECA, leisure, food manufacturing, education and health sectors.
