Looking ahead to RWM 2018

By 22/06/2018News

With RWM 2018 quickly approaching, Edward Sims from the event’s owners, the Prysm Group looks ahead to what will be on offer.

RWM will run alongside the Future Resources Expo

The two day event at the NEC in Birmingham on the 12-13 September is the UK’s leading expo for recycling and waste management.

This year the show is running under new management and also sees the introduction of the Future Resources Expo running alongside RWM, allowing for a larger breadth of sectors to be included into the conglomerate. Tickets to the event are free and available through the RWM website.

The Innovation trail will be returning, showcasing the most ingenious companies at this year’s event. Following the trail will allow for a streamlined and targeted visit to the expo, providing delegates with the chance to see the best RWM has to offer within their industry.

This year’s RWM Expo has line-up of speakers all covering a large breadth of topics ranging from helping small businesses grow, insight into the infrastructure assessment and the prevention of waste crime. The chief executive of Recycling Technologies, Adrian Griffiths will talk about the avenues that chemical recycling could open up in order for Britain to hit its recycling targets. Tony Khouri, executive director of Australia’s Waste Contractors & Recyclers Association, will also be present and speaking about the difficulties in looking to improve recycling in order to meet lower contamination legislation.

The speakers topics covered will vary and offer insight from a multitude of perspectives. Being able to cover all bases and provide relevancy for all the different sectors that make up the diverse industry, has spearheaded the strategy when putting together the show. Because of this, RWM has confirmed seminars from Sharon Lashley of Enviro UK Consultants discussing reducing reliance on single use plastics, and James Lee of Cromwell Polythene discussing how we can adjust our essential need for plastics in the modern world.

Exhibitors

Alongside these seminars, RWM boasts an extensive and varied exhibitor list, with innovative products and sector services from not only the UK, but from around the world on display. The range of exhibitors is broad, with suppliers of vehicles like the recently confirmed Katmerciler, as well as specialist equipment suppliers like Ken Mills Engineering, Eurotools, Magnapower Equipment, inciner8 Ltd, Lodi UK and Moisttech. All will be available to answer questions about their market-leading products.

To further meet the needs of the delegates attending, a deeper focus on the business aspect of waste management sees a number of service providers exhibiting as well, allowing for recruiting and consulting providers to make their presence felt for the first time at the Expo. Astute Technical, Pivot, WRC, Invelo, Veolia and the European Bioenergy Research Institute are a handful of the services on show.

Registration

RWM takes place on the 12-13 September 2018 at Birmingham’s NEC. Tickets are free for delegates. If you would like to attend, simply register yourself for the event here.
