Three weeks left to enter Awards for Excellence

The countdown is on to enter this year’s Award’s for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management, the most prestigious awards in the environmental calendar.

The Awards take place on 14 May at the Landmark Hotel in London and recognise local authorities, businesses, recycling companies and individuals that have gone the extra mile to achieve outstanding results in the field of recycling and waste management.

Entries

Entries can be submitted until the deadline of March 13 and applicants can apply here.

Over 400 people gathered at the Landmark Hotel in 2019 with host Gregg Wallace to celebrate the best of the best and 2020 is forecast to be bigger and better than ever.

Entries are invited in 15 categories which this year include a new category of ‘Health & Safety Initiative of the Year’ to reflect an increasing focus on safety in the sector.

Other popular categories include Collection Crew of the Year, Best use of Design and Technology, Civic Amenity Site of the Year and Recycling Champion. The full list of categories and sponsors can be found here.

The Awards are judged by an expert panel including Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com, Jacob Hayler from the Environmental Services Association (ESA), Julia Turner from the Wood Recyclers’ Association (WRA), Jarno Stet from Nawdo, John Woodruff from Ricardo and Carole Taylor from the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC).

Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com, said: “This is likely to be the Awards’ highest profile year to date, in what is a pivotal time for efforts to tackle waste and improve recycling in the UK and beyond. I would encourage anyone who has demonstrated excellence in this arena to enter.”
